All members/guests/visitors must book a tee time using the on-line booking facility. Those members who do not have access to this facility are to book through either the Country Club or Hotel Reception. Additionally, before playing every member/guest/visitor is to sign in at either the Country Club are Hotel Reception.
Priority on the Tee: When booking a tee time the tee booking system will automatically allocate a tee time for the 10th or 1st tee (depending on the tee first teed off from) two hours ahead of the original tee time. When you start your round, priority must be given to those continuing there round after 9 holes so that speed of play is not interrupted.
The tee system will always allow a booking slot to be available, however in the event that continuing play has bunched up please tee off as close to your original booked tee time attempting to minimise disturbance to continuing players.
BAG TAGS
Members must display a valid Membership Bag Tag and ensure that their guests are displaying their visitor’s ticket.
SAFETY & ACCIDENTS
Safety on the course and practice ground is paramount. Members are responsible for ensuring that the area of the course they are about to play to is clear of other course users (both members/guests/visitors and green keeping staff). In the event of an accident, please contact the hotel reception on 01485 536 030 or the country club on 01485 536 010. First aid kits and appointed persons are available at both locations.
SLOW PLAY
Slow play irritates everyone on the golf course, members should be aware at all times of their position on the golf course. It is their responsibility to maintain their position on the course and avoid undue delays. Any group that has lost a complete hole on the group ahead of them should wave faster groups, or those immediately behind them, through irrespective of the number of members in the group.
Members searching for a ball, unless found almost immediately, should allow the following groups to play up. They should not wait until the ball has been declared lost (5 minutes) to signal to the group behind. Play should not continue until it is safe to do so.
DRESS CODE
Only smart casual wear, as defined below, is acceptable on the Golf Course.
Smart casual clothes worn on the Golf Course (provided they are clean and dry), may be worn in any area of the Country Club/Hotel. Wet or muddy clothes are confined to the changing facilities only and are to be removed before entering either the Country Club or Hotel.
Golf shoes must be worn on the Golf Course. Within the Country Club, golf shoes may only be worn in the changing rooms and the bar area. Golf shoes are not to be worn inside the Hotel.
Caps or visors must not be worn backwards and all headgear must be removed in the Country Club/Hotel.
Men’s acceptable clothing includes:-
(a)shirts: all shirts must have a collar and be tucked in at the waist (but see (d) below)
(b)(polo-neck or turtle-neck jumpers are acceptable in lieu of a shirt)
(c)Tailored trousers
(d)tailored knee length shorts with either full length socks or white sports socks.
(e)Straight cut shirts that are designed to be worn outside trousers are permitted.
Ladies’ acceptable clothing includes:-
(a) blouses/tops must have a collar (polo-neck or turtle-neck jumpers are acceptable in lieu of a blouse/top)
(b) tailored trousers
(c) tailored shorts, culottes or skirts no shorter than 4" above the knee.
The following are not permitted on the Golf Course:
Blue denim clothing, track suits, shell suits, leisure suits
Any clothing with large corporate logos or advertising
Football/Rugby type shirts and shorts, vest type or collarless t-shirts
Non-tailored shorts, football shorts
Trainers and sandals
Tee shirts, crew-neck shirts, singlets
General
The list is not finite and other items may be added at the request of Members and at the discretion of the Golf Manager.
The Golf Manager, in representing the interests of the Members, reserves the right to amend this dress code for specific functions and in specific circumstances (e.g. to require collar and tie or to relax the code in extreme hot weather).
Ensuring compliance with the dress code is the responsibility of all Members and employees of the Company. Members are responsible for their guest’s dress.
Some tolerance will be given to children under 10 years of age.
Any person not complying with this dress code may be asked to leave the Club Premises.
HANDICAPS
Under the club rules all members are requested to gain a handicap within 6 months of joining, to gain a handicap members must submit a minimum of 3 cards over 18 holes, which have been marked by another member with handicap.
Every member has ‘Players Responsibilities’, as a member of a golf club holding a handicap CONGU rules identify a number of responsibilities you must fulfil, please familiarise yourself with this information as included on the notice boards and club tee sheet.
Members are solely responsible for maintaining their own correct handicap. Members are responsible for the return of all their scores and the Handicap Committee will display on the notice board each member’s handicap based on the scorecards received up to that date. Members must not assume that their handicap is absolutely correct; any queries should be directed to the Handicap Committee.
All ‘away’ scores must be returned as soon as possible to the club and must be prior to the next club competition/medal. Members must complete the away score return form which includes the date, competition, CSS and SSS, their gross score, a copy of their scorecard showing the gross score (may be unsigned by marker) must accompany this form to allow for any 19.8 rule adjustments. Any ‘away’ score returned without any of this information will not be accepted and may result in the member’s handicap being suspended.
Members must always play off the lowest handicap at all times.
Members who are also members of other golf clubs must declare to the Handicap Committee their ‘home’ club. The ‘home’ club will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining their handicap.
Members seeking a handicap or whose handicap has lapsed should follow the instructions on the notice board. Guidelines are also available from the Handicap Committee.
Active / inactive handicaps, all players with handicaps (under EGU guidelines) must submit a minimum of 3 cards per year to avoid having an inactive handicap in the following year, an active handicap is required to play in most club competitions. An inactive handicap is only suitable for proving a standard of play for visiting other clubs.
GREEN STAFF
Members should at all times co-operate with greens staff to facilitate course maintenance.
Whilst the flagstick is removed from a hole, members must not play to that green until the flagstick has been returned to the hole by greens staff.
Pitch Marks should always be repaired before leaving the green and divots replaced with care elsewhere on the course.
BAGS, TROLLEYS AND BUGGIES
Golf bags should always be left at the side of the green. Trolleys and buggies must not encroach on to the teeing areas, approaches to the green or the green itself. All direction signs on the course must be obeyed.
Golf Bags are not to be taken in to plantations or ground under repair. Under no circumstances are trolleys and baggies to be taken in to plantations, or ground under repair.
During adverse whether conditions, restriction maybe brought in to prohibit the use of Trolleys and/or buggies on selected areas the course. These restrictions will be published by the Golf Manager on the club notice boards.
Buggies are only to be used on pathways, bridges and rough, please avoid driving down the centre of the fairway.
NOTICE BOARDS
Club notice boards may only be used on the authority of the Golf Manager, Captains or Handicap Committee.
DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICE (DMD)
DMDs can be used by members when playing in internal competitions.
PARKING
Members/Guests/Visitors are requested to park their car in the car parks provided. Cars must not be parked in the vicinity of the green keepers sheds.

MOBILE TELEPHONES
Mobile phones, if carried on the course, should be switched to silent and only used for an emergency.
DOGS
Dogs are not allowed on the course.
GUESTS
Members are responsible for ensuring their guests conform to all the course rules.
PRACTICE
Practice play should be restricted to the driving range and practice putting green located close to the Country Club.
Members/Guests/Visitors using the practice area located next to the Hotel are limited to using short irons only (no long irons/woods can be used).
From time to time coaching staff may hold practice/tutorials sessions on the course; members playing the course have priority over these sessions.

LIABILITY
Heacham Manor golf club’s insurance policy includes liability cover so that any member of the Golf Club or Guest using the facilities is covered automatically under Heacham Manor’s policy should they cause injury or damage to a member of the public or their property.
“Member to Member” cover is also included and covers injury caused by one member/guest to another member/guest should they be hit whilst using the course.
Personal equipment is not included in Heacham Manor’s Insurance. Members and guests are strongly recommended to take out personal golf insurance for this and liability.
COMPLAINTS
Any complaints concerning matters affecting or connected with the Club, including employees, shall be made in writing to either the Director of Golf or Golf Manager.
